CLAMSHELL DAY

Where did September go, the last day of the month already.

I have been playing with the Clamshells.

Mainly just making the Clams.

I couldn't decide how to join them.  The whole row seemed rather daunting.

So having seen on another blog, I will put the link there when I find her.

Decided to have a go at joining them into threes.    This works well, and with the guide lines on the template at the back I think I have them correct.

So the makings of a Quilt

0oh dear seem like there is a long way to go.  But thanks Jossee for the journey.

The start is the most difficult Sheila. Just keep on going. The fabrics you are using are so pretty. Once you have decided ;-) on the lay out a strip of fabric might help as a start. I started out with a strip.

Lovely fabrics for your clamshells.

You're going to have a beautiful color mix! Jossie's right, the beginning is the hardest bit. Keep doing your groups of 3 and they'll start to pile up on no time; then you'll have the fun of playing with layout just like regular blocks!

Really lovely vibrant colours which tone nicely. Can't wait to see it half way. It looks really complex to join and keep the shapes obvious - unless an overlap is all part of the plan? This is one as a non-quilter I have trouble visualising finished.

You have chosen some lovely fabrics! Once you get your first row done, it will become much easier.

I agree with everything said: the hardest part is to take the plunge: but don't forget we are all in this together!
I think that all your prep-work will pay off as soon as you start your rows, Your colours are gorgeous and your trees will make stitching them together a breeze!
You go, Sheila!
We are cheering you on!
:)
