The thought process
Orange brown blue land
Gold chain stitching to portray the Golden Sands
The 1st Verse of 'My Country'
Printed on fabric and then burnt around the edges as in a bushfire
The Verse Part secured down with Colonial Knots (we were established as a Colony)
The Colonial Knots are forming the Constellation of The Southern Cross only seen in the Southern Hemisphere
and the back of the postcard Describing why I chose the front.....
to honour Dorothea Mackellar OBE famous Australian Poetress.
Permission was obtained to quote the first verse of her poem from
where you can read about her life and more of her poems.
